They act fully (in the here and now) without regard to the past or the future. It is quite a trick to accomplish as a much more highly evolved human being! Another way of (expressing) what dogs do so well is that they act without reservation. Time to bark? Bark. Time to sleep? Spin around a few times and sleep. Perfect.
